Currently three teams on 39 points, but not after tonight!

Currently all of Barrow, Hartlepool and Moors are on 39 points. In the league table Barrow are top of the three because of a goal difference of -6.

Both Hartlepool and Moors have a goal difference of -13, but Hartlpool are above Moors because they have scored more goals.

Coincidentally tonight Barrow are at home to Hartlepool. Both will clearly be desperate for points.

Should Barrow happen to beat Hartlepool then clearly Hartlepool would get no points, but more than that, their goal difference would get worse, and thus they would drop into the bottom four, and Moors would go up, without even kicking a ball tonight.

Let's just see what happens.

Think the worse result tonight would be a Barrow win. I'm hoping Barrow go winless in their next 4 games; I can also see Hartlepool getting enough points (more than Barrow).

The more teams down the bottom the better

Crawshaw SMFC, your analysis could well be right. But there is also the point that Moors escaping from the bottom four would have a profound psychological effect upon the players and Management.

And have the opposite effect upon those at Hartlepool. Already they are facing an uncertain future because of financial concerns.

For what it is worth the current odds for tonight are :-

Barrow win 103/100
Draw 5/2
Hartlepool win 16/5

Again, worse result would be a Barrow win tonight.

We'll be out of the bottom 4 come 5pm Saturday, the psychological effect can come into play then.

Not if they've all got more points than us. Only takes one.

A Barrow win, with their games in hand, would pile the pressure onto Hartlepool, not us. We need one of them to remain on 39 points and we should be looking at overtaking Hartlepool, Woking and Maidstone and forget all about Barrow.

With Barrow having scored, and thus they are currently winning 1-0, the "as it stands" league table has Moors out of the bottom four.

Nice to see now, even if it does not last.
