How to expand the Fan Base ?
As Mark Yates , did say after the game at Fylde , we have some great, loyal supporters , commanding 650 minimum fans , but we don't have a large fan base.
Why is this ?
Birmingham has a population of well over 1 million.
Surely the second capital can have Moors , Birmingham and Villa , as good standard of football teams.
Solihull itself must be at least 80,000 now.
So the footfall is there.
Anyone got some good ideas , so we can add to the core support at the Moors ?

Re: How to expand the Fan Base ?
Solihull is 200000 if you count the entire borough but the problem is, as a suburb, that all roads lead to Birmingham. Bus, train, and road links favour the city centre more than the local town centre, and most people already have more loyalty to Birmingham than Solihull - which lacks an identity of its own. That means almost everyone interested in football is already Blues, Villa, occasionally Baggies, or slightly more rarely, Wolves. We have to grab the casual football fan first and foremost and that means winning games, as Statto says.

Re: How to expand the Fan Base ?
Yeah, 7-8 years ago our average gate was what 150-200? To go from that to an average attendance of 879 this season and breaking our attendance record twice is fantastic.
There is no reason why if we continue to stay in this league and maybe push on a bit we couldn’t double (and more) that in the next 7-8 years but like has already been said it requires the onfield action to be attractive and the match day experience do be decent and with good value.

Offering attractive ST prices for adults and U16s would help.

Good shout. The ST prices working out at £10 per game for Adults and less than £3 per game for Under 16'd is superb. Well done the club.

Re: How to expand the Fan Base ?
Agree that we have the potential for a very large fanbase. Solihull as an area is at least as big if not bigger than the majortity of other clubs in our division and divsions above. Suppose being a relatively new club is a factor and things take time to build.
More Press coverage would help.
Still microscopic amounts of coverage in the Evening Mail. Think that the Solihull press is better.
Rarely seems to get a mention on Midlands sports news on TV. Wonder why not. Wall to wall coverage of Villa, Blues and Albion is boring as hell and just serves to keep the monopolies of those clubs.
Think that Parking is a bigger factor than many realise. Location means that a lot of visitors have to use the car. £2 to park in a bomb crater is pants.
Add £1 or £2 to the admission price if necessary but with the car park in the state that it is, it should be free and come with a warning that parking is at your own risk..
Lucky not to get a claim for damage.
Even walking across the car park could be dangerous particularly for less able people. Would think that it totally rules out people in wheelchairs.
A level marked surface would increase capacity many times over.
How about some netting to stop balls sailing over into the carpark.

Do you think our current Adult ST price will attract new supporters?
