I think that these comments are insulting to the fans who have followed the club not only since its inception but through thick and thin in the years when Solihull Borough and Moor Green were in lower leagues with crowds of barely a couple of hundred - or even less. The passion, love and desire of these fans of yore have elevated the club to where we are now and for a "Johnny come lately" to show contempt for these followers is itself beyond contempt and deserving of an apology to those who have demonstrated their passion, love and desire for, in some cases, decades.

Agree...
There are some very loyal supporters , who have been there longer than I have .
Have also stuck with Solihull Moors, through thick and thin.
The Mark Yates Stand , whoever the person is , makes some stupid , immature comments.

Re: Increasing Moors Away Numbers - Your Suggestions
I am sorry Clive I did mean to offend
I meant the way WASU pro actively promotes the club, displays flags, sings at games. This is what we need,

Re: Increasing Moors Away Numbers - Your Suggestions
I take your apology. There are many people who have, over the years, done an enormous amount to promote the club. Jono and Lucy, in particular, and early Supporters' Association committee members worked tirelessly in the community promoting the club through events which cost them not only time, but money too. We've had flags for years as well. 10 years ago we organised a fireworks display which involved distributing over 6000 flyers door to door and the whole shebang was funded by a Supporters' Association committee member, manned by volunteers and resulted in a then record crowd of over 1400 people. Statto's work behind the scenes has been going on longer than I've been a supporter and for years he organised minibuses and coaches to away games, making up any shortfall in income from his own pocket. The voluntary work that goes on behind the scenes and on the day is mainly unrealised. Virtually everyone you see doing Moors' stuff on matchdays is a volunteer from Nick, Mike and Dave in the club shop to Windy the Matchday Manager to John Reeves organising events to all the backroom staff involved with the ladies teams, youth teams and community workers. An enormous amount of planning and knowledgeable expertise goes into running the club and time is freely given by all involved.
So, I'd like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all and sundry that make this club tick.

Not forgetting Maxine & Derek and Ray in the tuck shop and that bloke that sells the 50/50 tickets.
Many of you miss some, or all, of game.
THANK YOU

Re: Increasing Moors Away Numbers - Your Suggestions
Here here to all the praise for those who really support the club with their efforts.
The main point I would like to put over is that we could censor the remarks of the irritants, but largely they are just that, irritants and not worthy of censorship which is applied with a very light touch on this board. If they succeed in irritating then better to just ignore them so they get bored and move on.
Is this unreasonably lax of us?
