Season Tix
Good news about the board/decision makers finally seeing sense and offering juniors (I’m presuming under 16’s?) a great deal on season tickets for £10 – for which they should be commended by all. I’m hoping they will go the whole hog and re-instate the juniors for £1 too as this has been the source of much frustration over the last couple of years and could go towards us finally seeing our attendances (and bar and tuck shop takings) improve.
I’ll be taking advantage of the early bird season ticket as usual with the added discount of £34 thanks to Pompey “lovely jubbly Rodders!!!”

Re: Season Tix
Kids should be able to get in for a quid, maybe 2 maximum. We should have a 'kids get in free' day too, with plenty of advertising.

Re: Season Tix
I think the £10 junior season ticket is a much better idea than kids for a quid. Kids for a quid didn't increase the gate, whereas the junior season ticket (which could be relabelled kids for 50p) may well do so. Having a season ticket engenders a feeling of 'belonging' and may well encourage not only kids but parents to attend more frequently, too, and that is where the real income stream is because adults tend to spend more than kids and even in these straightened times ten pounds for 20 Saturday afternoons of entertainment is not beyond most people. Well done to the board.

Re: Season Tix
The season ticket benefits our local supporters, whereas kids for a quid is good for opponents supporters and their families who may only visit us once a season (for whom normal admission prices are still applicable).

Re: Season Tix
If kids for a quid was properly advertised, we could have loads of coke-swilling, psycho mouse addict and burger-munching teenagers every Saturday. The only reason that previous similar programmes failed was because they relied on admittance with a paying adult and barely got any publicity.

Re: Season Tix
all it takes is an add in the Birmingham mail to drum up support. when i worked there a couple of years ago a quarter page add was something like £120 quid, surely an add that big would get you more then a 120 quid return?

Re: Season Tix
I think this is now an old argument. I don't think kids for a quid would affect numbers of away supporters who tend to be a hardcore who would travel anyway, meaning that the club would lose revenue from away supporters (and possibly home supporters) if the entrance fee for kids was reduced to £1. This seems to be the rationale for introducing the season ticket at a level anyone can afford. We should applaud that and move on. Incidentally I also don't believe that an advert costing £120 would bring in 120 new kids, either.

Re: Season Tix
not a hundred an 20 kids, 12 adults would cover that cost straight off, then theres the kids on top of that.
