Re: Full details of our European adventure...
Looking at the rules from last season, we can only be drawn against a Scottish team at the first stage we are in with it being an open draw from there on.

Re: Full details of our European adventure...
Travel costs? As I posted in an earlier thread :-
Last season there were travel subsidies available, £10000 if there was the need to cross the Irish Sea, and £3500 if there was a round trip exceeding 500 miles. So Sutton United would have got £3500 for the visit to AIRDRIEONIANS, and £10000 for the visit to BOHEMIANS, towards travel costs.

Re: Full details of our European adventure...
I think he meant travel costs to supports rather than the team Jline.
There will be plenty of people keen on a trip if we get drawn away, but some people may understandably find the costs prohibititive.

Forgive me for saying this. I know it might bring in abit of money for the club but its too much if you ask me.
2 reasons why:
Its a league distraction.
The games are miles away if drawn away either a plane or a boat if your playing in Ireland or ni ( too much money)
Good luck to us in it. I'll more than likely be at the home games if drawn at home. But won't be going away games. Far far too much money.
Yes, it's a wonder anyone ever wants to go anywhere at all, really.

Maybe the club will subsidise the travel, out of their £3500 or £10000?
In any case, are we getting ahead of ourselves? A 50% chance we shall be at home in Round 3, when we come in?

Re: Full details of our European adventure...
This is getting underway tonight while we host Torquay. Personally, I'm hoping the 12 Premiership U21 teams are eliminated en masse, as I can't imagine facing one of them in R3 would make for much of an atmosphere, home or away.

Re: Full details of our European adventure...
Statto, as you said earlier, a 50% chance of a home tie, and in that case, no travel costs of course.
Away travel costs for the club highly subsidised, either £3500 or possibly £10000.
And I am hoping for ..... lots of TUNNOCK'S CARAMEL WAFERS being handed out!

Re: Full details of our European adventure...
Not being a miserable old git but... Tend to agree with Fyldes comments.
Whilst I agree that it is a bit of a novelty and the chance to see some obscure grounds, it is a hell of a distraction in a meaningless competition and heaven forbid that our season be derailed before it has started by picking up a few serious injuries against a remote team of cloggers.
Anyway, as it is happening, I guess we will just have to embrace it. Maybe a chance to get some reserves out.
Have we dropped another competition to take part in this or is this an extra?

No, this is in addition to the other cup competitions we played last season (FA Cup, FA Trophy and Birmingham Senior Cup).

Re: Full details of our European adventure...
Because I could not see any detail about the draw for Round Three, I sent an enquiry to The Scottish Professional Football League.
The answer I have got back says :-
The draw is likely to be made on Wednesday and will hopefully be live on YouTube - details will be confirmed within the next 24 hours.
