The league that Bury FC end up in will depend on whether they wish to pay off there football creditors. This is he only way they will be allowed to continue with the original club. Even then they re-enter at least two leagues below were they last played, so potentially they would be in the National League. If they don't want to or can't pay off the football creditors the current club is dead and they would need to start again, just as Newport did at the bottom, something like the North West Counties League.

Here's a conundrum: Although promoted to League 1 at the end of the 18/19 season, they never played a game in League 1 so, the last league they played in was League 2. Does that mean that the highest league they could play in would be the Vanarama North, providing of course that they paid off their creditors?
