Re: Solihull Moors v Boreham Wood
Brilliant feed from YouTube, superb performance from ten men playing for over 80 minutes, including time added on (10 and 1/2 minutes), fully deserved and once again brilliant, brilliant game management, three clean sheets on the bounce, a joy to watch.

Re: Solihull Moors v Boreham Wood
Good match, the filming while not up to tv standards was not bad, no breaks and covered all the match, nice to watch can’t wait to be in the stands again.

Re: Solihull Moors v Boreham Wood
Such a hard working squad. Bores were a good side and they couldn't break us down. Then Rooney took a half chance and created a good goal to beat a very good and impressively large goalkeeper. I was disappointed that the referee forgot how to use his cards for much of the 2nd half. Carter deserved both cards but there were many other tackles and bungling into our defence that deserved a card I thought.
Rooney will get the plaudits for that goal but Coxe and Cranston and the rest of a defensive effort might deserve it as much.

Re: Solihull Moors v Boreham Wood
Lets put it this way. I had the moors game on my phone and the blues game on my tv.
The game I was watching on my phone was brilliant. Great performance albeit a bit nervy in the first half especially after the red card. Carter has got to do better In that situation I'm sorry. Not what you want from an experienced player.
The game on my tv was drab.

Re: Solihull Moors v Boreham Wood
Mystified by team selection. No Jamie, Archer on the bench after scoring two. Carter at centre half instead of others purchased to play there.
However cant argue with the result.
Boreham deserved at least a point but tough s**t.
Coxe, Boot, Sbarra and Rooney were excellent others were average. We have to stop suicide defending and faffing about at the back.
Coverage was excellent by the way. Worked well.

Re: Solihull Moors v Boreham Wood
It was great to see the goal from Rooney, hopefully the first of many.
Yes it is early in the season and no doubt there will be many more great goals to come, but at this moment for Goal-of-the-Season thus far I would struggle to choose between Rooney's goal yesterday, and Osborne's goal in the previous match.
Both involved pin-point accuracy.

Re: Solihull Moors v Boreham Wood
Is Jamie carrying an injury.
Sincerely hope so, otherwise criminal waste of tallent of by far the best midfielder in the league.

Re: Solihull Moors v Boreham Wood
Have to admit that I was also fully expecting Ozzy to start yesterday after his stellar contribution in the win against King’s Lynn, however I can only speculate that he was being rested by Jimmy Shan, as Storer had been the previous week, for the long and busy season ahead? Either way, those that did play yesterday stepped up to the mark in every way against very decent opposition. I thought the ten men of Moors acquitted themselves superbly for 70 plus minutes and put absolutely everything into this game. I thought the much maligned Tyrone Williams in particular had a great game alongside his fellow defenders. Rooney’s brilliantly taken goal was the cherry on the cake and let’s hope it’s the first of many more. Another massive game awaits us a week on Tuesday up in Stockport, but the momentum is building very nicely! COYM

Re: Solihull Moors v Boreham Wood
Jamey Osborne picked up an injury in the friendly at Hereford, and is presumably still working his way back to fitness. Don't forget he wasn't even in the squad at Woking. Since then we're 3 for 3, albeit with his excellent cameo for half hour against King's Lynn, so we've not suffered greatly.
Can't fault the coverage again. My comments re: the cameraman were in contrast to how slick the camera work has been in the first couple of games -- definitely TV quality in those. It's a shame that some people have had issues before yesterday as the quality of the streaming so far has been top notch. Plus, as someone who has been friends with Ben since age 11, and had a hand in setting up the radio commentary and getting him involved, I'm bloody delighted that everyone now gets to hear just how good he is every game. There are few people as passionate and dedicated in their research and delivery in this league, for sure.
I thought the second half performance yesterday was excellent. Statto's explanation on Gleeson makes sense, as I'm sure there were a few of our players that Boreham Wood will have had specific gameplans to counter, Gleeson and Osborne being two, but Maycock perhaps not. Not sure why it couldn't have waited five minutes until half time like the Ball switch, though. Demoralising for a player to get the hook like that in the first half, and Gleeson didn't exactly look pleased.
Contrary to Boris, I think the performance from the players who took part in that second period was outstanding. I don't think we'd have beaten Boreham Wood with 10 players trying to play long from the back with only Rooney up front; possession would have been lost over and over again and Boreham Wood would have besieged us far earlier. If anything, the change of shape and tight, technical play in the channels to pull the superior numbers out of shape was brilliant tactical play from Shan and the team. Yes, players at this level will occasionally get caught out, especially as our team is still gelling. We defended well and held the ball admirably considering Boreham Wood had the numbers and a serious attacking threat in the class Rhead and Tshimanga. The latter was kept quiet and the former mostly kept from linking with his teammates. No complaints here.
