Lye Town
All real ale fans are reminded of the game Tuesday night.
With direct trains, etc direct to Lye,on the Stourb'dge
With the ground, Lye station, the Windsor Castle, Saddlers brewery, the Shovel Inn and a curry house all within sight of one another.

It's an eight minute walk from the station to the ground.
Incidentally, their team is 3rd out of sixteen in their league so we need to be prepared.

Regarding the trains:Trains back along the Startford line will mean waiting for an hour after the match so better to use trains to Solihull. Both lines only have one train an hour at that time of day.

Well if you're me it's probably 8 mins, but google maps rated no 1 its 6 mins and that's only cus you've got to cross a busy road, dont come if it's too far. Anyway you'll be in the pub, its next door.
You could not be closer.
As for the trains the one for Shirley was 9.57pm what time do you expect the match to end. You've only got a brewery to wait in.
Tell you what dont come, Lye is a dangerous place. The beers crap and I wouldn't use the station, it's too dark. The 9 Platinum bus people used to Halesowen last season probably better. Free wi fi.
Warning Lye is a dangerous place.
Update the 9.57pm to Shirley is still on it's the 10.27 to Solihull that's been CANCELLED. NO DRIVERS.
So definitely dont come if you donf want a pint after. The last train is 10.57.......
Tell you what why am I wasting my time, drive but dont drink. I've no idea on parking but theres probably none. The High St is a no -go area. Theres roadworks and barriers all along. So side roads only, and there too dangerous.

I'm sorry, seems my attempts at trying to help, have not succeeded,
I wont do that again. People are sensible enough to check these things before they travel. Aren't they.
Anyway the last train is 22.52 and you go to Stourbridge first, away from Solihull, for ONE stop...
Then catch 23.00 train to Solihull....Shirley you still have the 21.59, or the last one at23.08.
These might be too risky.
The 9 Platinum (Grey) bus runs from Lye to Brum at 21.50
22.20, 22.50, 23.25, and 00.10.
But I wouldn't trust buses and trains at the minute.
Apols again, get a lift, if you're coming.

I always knew that the kids would play but to not have any first teamers at least on the bench or even the first team manager managing the game sums it up for me. This cup was never our priority. The lads huffed and puffed and fair play to them.
Also thanks to the bloke ( 1 of the locals) in the pub before the game who tried to start a fight on Me for no reason whatsoever. Trying to say that he knew where I lived.

I’m in two minds about this.
First off I feel sorry for those that went in shite weather to watch us play academy kids, maybe the club could of said that would be the case. Those that travelled, I salute you👊👊
However, if I were the manager I’d do the same, two games coming up against playoff rivals it isn’t worth risking the squad imo. I personally wouldn’t bother entering the competition but not sure if it’s part of our county membership🤷♂️🤷♂️
