Stockport game last night.
First and foremost fair play to them.
But the winning goal last night to make it 5-3 the player who scored removed his shirt which is a yellow card offence. He also ran into the crowd which is a yellow card offence. Should it of been 2 bookable offences? He only got the 1 yellow. I suppose by the letters of the law it should of been 2 yellow cards. Would of took a brave referee to do that though.

Re: Stockport game last night.
The player was cautioned for excessive celebration. Removing the shirt is an excessive celebration and jumping into the crowd was an extension of this rather than a second offence.

Oh.
Personally I think it's a stupid rule. You should be allowed to celebrate however you want. Especially in scenarios like that.
I remember when aguero won City the league and he got booked. The referee mike dean admitted last year that if he was already on a yellow card at the time that he would of just let it go.

Re: Stockport game last night.
The point of the excessive celebration law is so that you don't get players struggling to get their shirt back on, or revealing offensive messages on undershirts, or approaching rival fans to incite them, or causing dangerous situations amongst their own fans by causing a forward rush.
These things rarely happen, but the law exists to discourage them.

Yes he did say that. He also said that it was because of the occasion (ie an injury time goal winning the league) and that had it been a case of giving a second yellow card he would have been accused of trying to get all the attention and make it about him. As it was Aguero hadn’t already been cautioned so for a yellow card for his celebration was correct.
I understand what you are saying about being able to celebrate as you wish, but if players are jumping into crowds it becomes a safety issue if people are surging to the front of the crowd.
