The general consensus across socials and this forum, which I agree with, is that this is not a good change.
Who thinks this is a good idea? Probably a small minority in the club who commissioned and paid for it from a company that don't even appear to be a marketing design company but a company who produce the actual merchandise. I wouldn't be surprised to see CM Brand on our sponsors list soon.
Where the fans consulted? Hell no
Were the SMSA even consulted or informed? Dave/Simon?
Football, and Solihull Moors is nothing without fans and in my view ( I know others will disagree) this could alienate some fans who respect and honor the history. The club needs to work with and engage with the fanbase.
This is a massive lost opportunity to involve the fans to help shape our club including the image. Moor than Eleven?
I agree with the sentiments that this looks unprofessional, Sunday league and "Tinpot" Just look at the crests of all the other clubs in the National League and EFL and you will be hard pushed to find one more mickey mouse than this
Taking a few points from the announcement on the club website:
"In recent years, the club has developed a ‘brand style’ that is now visible and recognisable across all its channels". I agree so why change it so demonstrously?
"The club is extremely proud of its history". Agreed so why scrap the old badge which actually pays homage to this.
Some may think my views are over the top but this is the passion I show standing behind the goal every week through rain, shine, Tuesday night in Grimsby, winning or losing.
Do the club have the balls to now listen to fans and reverse this? I very much doubt it sadly as they will already have wasted a lot of time and money on this and wont want to e seen to loose face publicly.
Next time, please do the right thing and engage with the fans.

Absolutely 1000 percent agree stuart.
Would be interesting to know if the smsa were made aware of the changes. Owners can do what they want with a business they run though. Football unfortunately is no different.

I’m going to break the mould and say that I don’t mind it personally. It’s very generic and none-stand-out-ish but I understand why the club have moved forward.
The fans should’ve been consulted however, even if the club said “we’re going to change the badge to a modern one” and gave us 2-3 choices to vote for.
If we was going for symbols off the Solihull coat of arms I would’ve gone for the greyhound over the griffin haha.

It looks a bit "NFL" to me, like a cross between the Seahawks and Cardinals. Would look decent on the side of an American Football helmet, not so much on the front of a footy shirt.
Agree with the views that it would have been better to put a few options out to the public vote, rather than just "imposing" the new badge on the fan base. Although it's "only" a badge, it's going to appear on the club merchandise that the fans spend their money on, so we really should have been considered as one of the key stakeholders in this.
On the flipside, I wasn't a huge fan of the old badge. Yes, it explicitly referred to the history of the clubs that formed the Moors, which is important, but it didn't scale well and had a fairly generic feel to it.
Given the backlash across social media, I expect we might see a few videos of the players extolling the virtues of the new badge across social media, to appease the discontent.

Part of me thinks “meh, it’s only a badge” however I think the club have missed a real big opportunity with this and the lack of fan participation is disappointing, although it doesn’t surprise me!!!
The press release about the virtues etc of the griffin is typical media mumbo jumbo, personally I don’t even think it’s 100% clear it’s a griffin. A pal of mine just text me asking if we’ll be having Robin on our away shirts being as we have Batman on our home shirts😂😂
Right decision to update the branding, execution is poor, very very poor imo.
