surely the decision was made a few days ago. i actually think we stand a good chance, but watching football stoned out my face in "the Dam" does sound appealing

I am looking forward to the press holding their collective hand up to say it was they who undermined the bid, and to someone asking about the BBC's stand on our behalf and our right to know on Question Time. Anyway Russia's mafia and their drug money should finance a jolly good show. So on to the next question, will England qualify?

Fair-play and Anti-racist organisation FIFA have awarded it to Russia (no comment) and then Qatar. Should Israel "be allowed" to qualify (and they don't as the groupings make the task almost impossible, and has done for years) they will not be allowed into Qatar, and it seems anyone with an Israeli visa in their passport is not welcome either. Well done Blatter, you really have set a moral standard there.

Problem solved. Sebb Blatter's comment that "gays travelling to the 2022 World Cup should reframe from all sexual activities" in Qatar, where homosexuality is illegal. So simply reframe from underwear and being jewish whilst there!
John Ameachi (former british NBA basketball player has been critical of the remark..see BBC Sport's website for a contest between an intelligent sportsman and a crass administrator.
